I have always been an artist, a storyteller, a seeker. Long before I had the words to claim it, creativity was my first language—spoken in the margins of my notebooks, sung in the harmonies of my grandparents’ Pentecostal church in Jamaica, NY, and painted in the strokes that earned my artwork a place in the Hall of Congress.
